Practical expertise,
forged underground.
Digital systems in mining fail for predictable reasons like poor integration, unrealistic vendor promises, and teams that inherit technology they didn’t design. This space shares what field experience has taught me, and stays open to exchange if an outside perspective can be useful somewhere down the line.
Background
My path has taken me alongside mining operators and technology vendors, working on systems I’ve actually built, deployed, and troubleshot underground, not just read about on paper.
My background spans the full lifecycle: software and firmware development for RTLS, VoD, CAS and IoT platforms, on-site deployment in operating mines, and acting as a technical SME within a major OEM. I understand both the engineering and the operational reality.
Areas of experience
Two realities I know well.
Mining Operators
Engineers, project managers, and ops leads evaluating or deploying automation, RTLS, VoD, or collision avoidance systems who need grounded technical guidance.
Technology Vendors & OEMs
Companies that need field-side expertise to design, validate, or support their solutions in real operating mine environments.
Areas of expertise
What my field experience covers.
Technical Evaluation
Independent assessment of digital systems before or during procurement without vendor bias.
Deployment & Troubleshooting
On-site or remote support during rollout, integration, or when things aren’t working as expected.
Subject Matter Expertise
Technical input for solution design, RFP development, or vendor engagement bridging engineering and operations.
Knowledge Transfer
Structured sessions to bring operations and maintenance teams up to speed on systems they’re inheriting or expanding.
